Resize images
Resize image width while preserving proportions.
How it works
- Choose or drop your files
- Select “Open image studio” and let your browser process it
- Review the result and download it to your device
Why use FileTools for resize images?
Resizing changes pixel dimensions rather than merely changing the displayed size. Reducing oversized photos before publishing can lower transfer size and prevent a website or form from doing an unpredictable resize later.
Best suited for
Profile photos, product images, form submissions, thumbnails, and responsive website assets.
Input and output
Input: JPG, PNG, or WebP images plus a target width.
Output: New images resized proportionally unless different dimensions are explicitly selected in the studio.
Known limitation
Enlarging a small source does not create real detail and can make edges look soft. Large dimensions also require more browser memory.
Practical tips
- Use the actual maximum display width instead of exporting an unnecessarily large image.
- Keep proportions enabled for photos and logos unless stretching is intentional.
