Base64 to file
Decode Base64 or a data URL into a downloadable file.
How it works
- Enter or paste the content
- Select “Decode file” and let your browser process it
- Review the result and download it to your device
Why use FileTools for base64 to file?
Base64 to file decodes text back into binary bytes and packages them as a browser download. A complete data URL can supply its own media type; raw Base64 uses the fallback type and filename you enter.
Best suited for
Recovering test fixtures, saving API payloads, decoding embedded assets, and checking Base64 output.
Input and output
Input: Raw Base64 or a valid data URL, plus an output filename when needed.
Output: One downloadable file containing the decoded bytes.
Known limitation
Decoding cannot identify whether bytes form a safe or valid document. Incorrect MIME types or extensions can confuse other applications.
Practical tips
- Use the filename extension and MIME type expected by the source system.
- Scan or inspect decoded files from untrusted sources before opening them in another application.
